Slovin & Associates has announced that its attorney and compliance officer, William Abbey, has been admitted to the Ohio State Bar and is now licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio. Abbey has been licensed to practice law in Kentucky since being admitted to the Kentucky State Bar in 2018.
“We are pleased to inform our clients that they now will have another additional legal resource in the state of Ohio,” said Slovin & Associates partner, Randy Slovin.
Abbey joined Slovin & Associates as a law clerk in 2013, taking on the responsibilities of compliance officer in 2014. As compliance officer, he is responsible for all in-house training to maintain employees’ knowledge of the latest updates for every one of the regulations and procedures that must be followed to ensure the firm’s clients maintain compliance. In addition, Abbey handles audits of the firm and advises on strategies to handle compliance disputes. He also oversees all non-commercial lawsuits for clients in the state of Kentucky.
Abbey holds a Doctor of Law from the University of Cincinnati College of Law (Cincinnati, Ohio), as well as a Master of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Kentucky (Lexington, Ky.).
